I begin this collection with these double-pin brooches, crafted in silver or in copper and boxwood, created as a tribute to the film El 47, and at the same time, as a heartfelt remembrance of my grandfather, Iñigo Herrer, who drove the bus route between Terrer and Calatayud until the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War.
El
47 tells the story of a peaceful act of dissent and the grassroots neighborhood
movement that, in 1978, transformed Barcelona and forever changed the image of
its outskirts. Manolo Vital, a bus driver, took control of the Line 47 bus to
expose a lie that the City Council insisted on repeating: that buses couldn’t
climb the steep hills of the Torre Baró district. His act of defiance became a
catalyst for change—a way to reclaim pride in one’s roots, and the struggle of
working-class neighbors who helped build the modern Barcelona of the 1970s.
Produced by The Mediapro Studio and distributed by A Contracorriente Films, El
47 is a film written and directed by Marcel Barrena and starring Eduard Fernández,
with Clara Segura, Salva Reina, and Carlos Cuevas.
